You have heard of how much money it brings to the table, but you don’t really know where the money comes from?
What is SEO really?
Let’s put it this way.
Imagine that you’re a librarian, who is the keeper of books, and you help the people find the exact book they’re looking for to get answers from. In order to help them, you have to have a system which helps you classify the books according to their genre and kind, and know what book is best to give them.
Now imagine that you’ve become the librarian to the world wide web, this system you have going on is how you rank which websites give the researcher the best answer.
One example of a librarian in the web is Google. In technical terms, Google is a search engine. Now what search engines do is scan every file uploaded on the web to identify the best file that will answer a researcher’s question.
How do you get ranked number one and get to the top?
Through search engine optimization, a.k.a. SEO.
SEO is the process of getting traffic in your site, by being on the top of the suggestions when people search for something.
Now that you know what it basically is, it’s time for the good stuff. How can you make money from it?
There are a gazillion ways to make money from SEO, but we’re just going to tell you the effective ones.
1. Offer your services.
Try offering your services to marketing forums. This can be a struggle to some because handling clients and offering services to them may be handful especially when clients become too demanding and overly critical.
Of course you should write. But what should you write about?
According to Derek Pierce, you can write a course. A course is very helpful especially when you create detailed courses that are proven effective. Write courses about life hacks or how to’s or step-by-step guides that people don’t really get to learn for free, but give it anyway. Examples of this include “how to get rid of pimples naturally” or “a step by step guide to PBN’s.”
You can start a blog. Write about what interests you and what keeps you going. Write about what you’re most passionate about, write what you love. If you really love doing this, you can get really far in the industry. Make it authentic, make it believable. Master the art of storytelling, never be boring!
If you love writing so much, maybe you could do both of these. Create your own blog, and write courses about things you know you’re good at, and things that could actually help real people.
3. Create a tool/service
If you have a BIG IDEA, make it happen, as long as it will be beneficial and useful! If you think you can’t just make it happen, why not hire someone who could make it happen for you? Don’t let your idea go to waste, you don’t want to regret having someone do this ahead of you.
4. Resell a product from amazon
Amazon being an online shopping site, gets a lot of traffic. How about selling a product on amazon? You can only imagine the amount of money people actually get from doing these, some even take it a step further and rank their actual product page themselves. Sometimes earning money is a gamble, get ready to play.
5. Work for offline clients.
Most of the local companies do not have a clue about SEO, but they can certainly benefit from it. They need you. It’s a win-win when you consider the fact that doing local SEO is a breeze compared to doing it on a global scale, you get paid for what you’re doing and you’re free to be creative in doing so.
One of the more popular methods for offline clients is reputation management.
Emphasize the benefits of SEO, and offer them your services and get paid on a monthly. Make an arrangement where you could initiate online leads, it could be percentage based or per lead, this depends on your agreement.
